Ordering & Payment

How do I place an order?

You can order through our mobile app, website, or directly at any Unplain Fridge location. Simply browse our menu, select your items, and proceed to checkout. For fridge locations, you can tap your phone or use the touchscreen to select meals.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), Apple Pay, Google Pay, and contactless payments. For corporate accounts, we also offer invoice billing options.

Can I modify or cancel my order?

For online orders, you can modify or cancel your order within 15 minutes of placing it. After that window, our kitchen begins preparation and changes may not be possible. For fridge purchases, all sales are final once the meal is dispensed.

Do you offer refunds?

We stand by the quality of our meals. If you're unsatisfied with your purchase for any reason, please contact our support team within 24 hours with your order details and we'll be happy to issue a refund or credit.

Where are your smart fridges located?

We have fridges in office buildings, co-working spaces, universities, and residential buildings across multiple cities. You can find all our locations on our locations page or in our mobile app with real-time availability.

Do you offer home delivery?

Yes! We offer scheduled delivery in select areas. Delivery times and fees vary by location. Check our app or website for availability in your area. We also partner with third-party delivery services in some regions.

How do I know if a fridge has the meal I want?

Our mobile app shows real-time inventory for each fridge location. You can check availability before you visit and even reserve items for pickup within a 30-minute window to ensure your favorite meals are waiting for you.

What are your fridge operating hours?

Our smart fridges are available 24/7 in most locations! Some fridges in office buildings may have restricted access during non-business hours. Check the specific location details in our app for exact access times.

About Our Meals

How fresh are your meals?

All meals are prepared fresh daily in our central kitchens by professional chefs. We deliver to fridge locations multiple times per day to ensure optimal freshness. Each meal is clearly labeled with preparation date and "enjoy by" time.

Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Absolutely! We offer vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut-free options clearly marked in our menu. You can filter by dietary preference in our app. All allergens are clearly listed for each meal.

How should I store and reheat the meals?

For best quality, refrigerate meals immediately and consume within 2 days. Most meals can be reheated in the microwave (remove lid first) for 2-3 minutes or in a conventional oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes. Detailed instructions are on each package.

Where do you source your ingredients?

We prioritize local and sustainable sourcing whenever possible. Our produce comes from regional farms, meats are antibiotic-free, and seafood is sustainably caught. We update our seasonal sourcing map quarterly on our website.

Account & Membership

Do I need an account to purchase meals?

No account is needed for one-time purchases at our fridge locations. However, creating a free account gives you access to order history, favorites, exclusive offers, and the ability to pre-order meals.

Do you offer a subscription service?

Yes! Our Fridge Friends membership offers 10% off all purchases, free delivery on orders over £15, early access to new meals, and exclusive member-only specials. Plans start at £9.99/month with no commitment.

How do I reset my password?

Click "Forgot Password" on the login page of our app or website. You'll receive an email with a link to create a new password. If you don't see the email, check your spam folder or contact our support team.

Can I gift a membership to someone?

Absolutely! We offer gift memberships in 3, 6, or 12-month increments. The recipient will receive a welcome email with instructions to activate their membership. Visit our Gift Memberships page to purchase.

Safety & Quality

How do you ensure food safety in your fridges?

Our smart fridges maintain a constant temperature of 1-4°C, well within food safety guidelines. Each fridge has 24/7 monitoring with alerts for any temperature fluctuations. We also conduct regular sanitation and quality checks.

What happens to unsold meals?

Any meals approaching their "enjoy by" time are automatically discounted in our app. Meals that reach expiry are donated to local food banks through our partnership with FareShare. In 2022, we donated over 75,000 meals.

Are your packaging materials eco-friendly?

We're committed to sustainability. Our containers are made from plant-based materials and are fully compostable. Lids are recyclable #5 plastic (we're working on a compostable alternative). We encourage customers to return clean containers to our collection bins for proper processing.

Do your meals contain preservatives?

We never use artificial preservatives. Our meals stay fresh through careful temperature control, high-quality ingredients, and innovative packaging that extends shelf life naturally. Some meals may contain natural preservatives like citrus extracts or vinegar.

Can we get a fridge in our office?

Yes! We partner with businesses of all sizes to provide smart fridge solutions for their teams. Benefits include employee satisfaction, reduced lunchtime downtime, and customizable meal plans. Contact our Business Team to discuss options for your space.

Do you offer corporate catering?

We provide catering for meetings, events, and employee meal programs with options ranging from individual boxed lunches to buffet-style setups. Minimum order requirements apply. Visit our Catering page or email catering@unplainfridge.com for menus and pricing.

Can employees pay with their benefits cards?

Many of our corporate partners integrate with employee benefit programs. We accept HSA/FSA cards for eligible items and can work with your benefits provider to enable meal allowance spending at our locations.

Do you offer volume discounts for large orders?

Yes, we offer tiered pricing for bulk orders and corporate accounts. Discounts start at 10% for orders over £500/week. Contact our Business Team to discuss your organization's needs and potential savings.
